1. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor:
When libraries come to life and seep through the strings holding the world together and characters of all backgrounds come together to triumph over the new evil, Strange the dreamer is a work of art.
*takes a deep breath*

THIS BOOK IS LITERALLY DENISE OH MY GOD PLEASE GO READ THIS I SWEAR THE PROSE IS SO BEAUTIFUL IT EATS ME ALIVE EVERYTIME I THINK ABOUT IT.
2. Loveless and Radio Silence by Alice Oseman:
Sometimes the most beautiful type of love is friendship and these two books prove just that. Following protagonists along the ace-spectrum learning more about their identities and coming to terms with their sexuality, Alice Oseman creates realistic characters and has a homely feel to her writing.
I know how much this means to her, that's it.
3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo:
Pitched as Ocean's Eight meets Game of Thrones, Bardugo's newest duology set in a same world as the New York Times Bestseller Shadow and Bone, is filled with arson. crime, gays and heists and is an absolute must read!
Denise is the gender bent Kaz and I will fucking die on this hill. Six of Crows is our substitute for a personality and neither of us shut up about it <3
4. Lore by Alexandra Bracken:
Merging Greek Deities and the modern world, Alexandra Bracken's newest standalone is full of angst, friends turned enemies, and a game of high stakes.
A fellow PJO stan, who has somehow turned out to be smarter than the rest of us, Denise is all puzzles and riddles just like this book (not mentioning it would have been a crime and I do not have a small crew of criminal prodigies to break me out of prison).
5. Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé:
A decades old mystery, murders & dark academia, Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé's debut novel does not disappoint!
Literally have no idea how the book and Denise are connected but this gives off the same aura she does (glory & gore & also a dash of gay).
I could only recommend 5 because ugh exams, ugh breakdowns, ugh life.
